The entire room stilled as Pedro wiped at the broken glass and alcohol now coating his face and upper body.

“Dolphins,” Pedro hissed.

“We need to go. Now!” I whisper-hissed into Grant’s ear. “He doesn’t like me.”

Grant nodded once, tilted his head towards the door, and the foursome slowly made their way towards the exit.

Someone had gotten Pedro a towel and he wiped his face off, giving me extra time to escape.

“I can smell you, Shark,” Pedro snapped and his head whipped around, his eyes focusing on mine in an instant. “Stop trying to leave.”

My body immediately froze.

His eyes turned blood red as he glared at me. “What did you do? Why are you in this bar starting issues?”

“She didn’t do anything,” Grant retorted. “Those four tried to start a fight they couldn’t win.”

Pedro’s eyes narrowed. “Who are you four? I’ve never seen you before. Why are you with that … thing?”

My lips pursed as a snappy retort rushed to the tip of my tongue, but I clenched my teeth together.

“None of your business, vampire. Now, deal with the ones who started the fight and threw a bottle at you, and leave us be,” Jong-min snarled.

Pedro crooked his finger at me. “Come here, Shark.”

My body was about to move on its own when Jong-min linked his arm through my right arm and Jong-hyun linked his arm through my left arm.

“Let’s go,” Jong-min whispered.

Fire flared in Pedro’s eyes as the twins pulled me away, breaking the power Pedro had over me.

My throat closed and my heart pounded harder in my chest.

“She’s not breathing,” Jong-hyun whispered.

“Faster. We need to get out of here faster,” Grant growled.

Reed, still in half shifted form, howled and suddenly the entire bar parted so we could leave.

My legs grew weak, and I wouldn’t have been able to remain upright if it weren’t for the twins, who were now carrying me between them.

“Hurry,” Jong-hyun gasped. “Hurry.”

When this was over, I was going to kill that vampire. I was going to shove a stake through his heart, dick, ass, and down his throat just for good measure.

We rounded a corner, went into an alley, and stopped once the shadows concealed us.

“Hold her,” Jong-min snapped.

Grant and Reed took my arms from the twins and shoved me against the wall of the alley.

What were they going to do?

Jong-min and Jong-hyun stepped in front of me, their eyes glowing the same color, and began chanting in a language I didn’t understand. No, not chanting … singing. Moving their hands in a mesmerizing pattern, they wove literal strands of magic in the air, creating a pattern with their combined strands. Jong-min had white magic, while Jong-hyun had black magic. The pattern was intricate, lace-like, and beautiful. It looked like a mandala almost.

The design finished forming, the twins pushed it towards me, and then it wrapped around me from my chest, to my sides, to my back. Once the design connected fully around me, an explosion of magic vibrated through me.

The magic coursed through my system,
